Nick Holt, LCSW, West Los Angeles psychotherapist | About Me
I work with men, caregivers, and high-functioning people who are ready to stop managing alone.

You're probably here because something isn't working anymore.

Maybe you've been managing well for a long time — career, relationships, responsibilities met, people taken care of. And yet there's a weight that doesn't lift. A distance between who you are in the world and how you actually feel inside.

Maybe you're exhausted from taking care of everyone else and have no idea what you even need anymore.

Maybe you've been performing wellness for so long you've forgotten what it actually feels like.

Maybe you just know it's time.
I'm Nick Holt. I'm a licensed clinical social worker and CBT therapist in West Los Angeles.
What Therapy With Me Looks Like

I'm direct, warm, and practical. I won't pathologize your strength or turn you into a lifelong client. My goal is to help you understand yourself well enough that eventually you don't need me anymore.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy — a structured, evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behavior. It's solution-focused. It gives you tools. It works. But technique is secondary to relationship.

Who I Work With

Men who are functioning exceptionally well by every external measure and feel empty anyway. Caregivers who have organized their lives around someone else's needs for so long they've lost track of their own. High functioning professionals carrying weight privately that nobody around them fully sees. People who are tired of being strong all the time. If you recognize yourself in any of that — keep reading.

The most important thing is that you feel safe enough to be honest. If you don't feel that with me, I'll tell you and we'll figure out why — or I'll help you find someone who's a better fit. That's not a disclaimer. That's how I work.

Why West Los Angeles?

I've spent over a decade doing clinical work in Los Angeles — with veterans, with people in acute psychiatric crisis, with individuals the traditional system couldn't reach. I've seen what happens when people don't get support early enough. I've also seen what's possible when they do.

Private practice is where I get to do the work on my terms — with people who are ready, in a room where there's time and space to actually go somewhere.

That matters to me.

Depression and Suicide

I am an Academy of Cognitive & Behavioral Therapies (A-CBT) Diplomate. CBT is a solution-focused approach focusing on learning new skills to solving problems. My goal is to help you become your own therapist, not a lifelong client.
I have a passion for helping men increase their effectiveness in their careers, relationships and lives through mental health. I've worked with veterans, athletes, executives, professionals and other peak performers.
Many caregivers are extraordinarily good at reading other people. At anticipating what's needed before it's asked. At holding things together when everything around them is falling apart. These are genuine strengths. They often come at a cost.
Sadness is part of our healthy emotional range. But when depression takes hold, it changes everything — how you think, how you feel, how you see yourself and your future. I've worked with depression and suicidality since 2009.
